Next week, we will not meet for discussion but the class will attend the Ash Wednesday Communion Service, 6:30-7:30pm in the WEPC Sanctuary.

Lent, a tradition from the early centuries of church history, is a season of preparation preceding the celebration of Easter focused on repentance. This communion service will be an opportunity to worship God in light of the grace He gives His people to repent and trust Christ alone for our hope and salvation. Children are welcome, and a nursery will be provided. Youth group and kid‘s club will be held. An offering will be taken for the WEPC Deacon’s Fund.

As the season of Lent approaches, consider going a little deeper into the truth that justification and doing justice are closely tied together.  Lent is a time to consider our need of the salvation that only Jesus Christ provides, and how God’s grace make us just.
I’ll be sending out a brief daily Lenten Reading email between Ash Wednesday (Feb 22) and Easter (April 8). This is a simple devotional help for anyone who want to take a minute and reflect on our Savior, His Cross, and how the Cross shapes our lives.
